What is Pi?
Where 3.14 comes from — hiding inside every circle
Why is the edge of every circle about 3.14 times the distance across?
A curved edge is hard to measure with a ruler. So we cheat.
We hide a straight-sided shape inside the circle — starting with a triangle — and add sides until it becomes the circle.
Each step, we measure the way around and divide by the way across. Watch the number it lands on.
